Here you find will answers to some commonly asked questions, but if you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Who are the hosts?
Pete and Heather are very easy going and have been welcoming guests to their three properties for five seasons. They know guests have individual needs and some will like to share a bottle of wine and chat in the evenings, whilst others will prefer to be left alone. They are prepared to help if you have a problem, particularly if it's a medical emergency.
Do we have sole use of the casa?
The guest accommodation has been created within a large old cortijo. It is completely separated and has independent facilities with it's own front door, as detailed in this web site. We usually live next door in a back to back situation, (although we go away to our weekend house,) with our two very friendly and well behaved dogs who are fenced in on our side of the casa. We do need to share the driveway for the cars though.
Do we get sole use of the pool?
Pretty much yes! The guest bedroom opens onto the tiled patio area surrounding the pool. This area, with sun loungers and a shaded dining area is solely for the use of our guests. However, most afternoons Heather likes to have a swim for half an hour or so. We have found that many of our guests have appreciated this opportunity to chat about their holiday plans, which bars and restaurants to go to, and what it's like living in Spain. If this is a problem for you please say and we will try to make alternative arrangements.
Is the property overlooked?
Technically yes, though in practice not really! The nearest casa to us is about 60 -70 metres up the hill. Screening plants around the poolside patio, create a fairly private area for our guests. We have had naturists to stay who have kept a towel with them to wrap around them should the need arise, but as the neighbours are naturists too they are not offended!
Where are the nearest bars, restaurants and shops?
Our nearest village is Oria. Here you will find all facilities - bars, restaurants, mini supermarkets, banks, petrol station, medical centre, small Sunday market etc. It is 7 minutes drive away.
When is the pool warm enough to swim in?
Most years we have been able to swim in the pool from May to the end of September.
Why do we charge £50 a week for heating in winter?
Can you recommend a car hire company?
In the past we have used a booking agency www.rentspain.com/ We recommend hiring a car so that you can get to the village for shopping and go for days out exploring the area.
Come and share this slice of paradise!
